I went to watch Ana’s gymnastics class today – and because it was right over my dinner time, Mum brought my dinner to the gym for me.

I had trouble keeping the carrots and the chick peas in the little containers. Mum gets an A for effort and 5/10 for execution.

Isn’t this thing meant to be peeled or something? Mum, that’s a B for effort and 7/10 for execution.

Then Mum did what any self respecting Mum should do when feeding kids on the go, and brought out the pre pack stuff. C for effort but 10/10 on all other accounts.

A lesson for Mum there. I think of all the effort I put into producing carefully balanced meals I made for three children over the years, and the only one that met with universal approval was fish fingers, peas from a packet and mashed spud.

Keep at that “eating the right stuff” idea. It’s important, I am told … now – where are my Choc Mallow Easter eggs?

Rafa – I think we all give Mum 11/10 for inspiration in suggesting what you should blog about today.
