I broke my previous ball in the bucket record at swimming this morning and dunked 9 balls!

A parcel in the letter box for me!

July 29, 2010

A trip to the letter box this afternoon suddenly became exciting when Mum said there was a parcel in the letter box for me.  The note inside said it was an early present from Santa (although the post mark was from New Zealand.  I wonder if Santa lives near Abuela?)

In the parcel was the story of ‘The Wonky Donkey’ by Craig Smith.  The story is so funny.  Mum must like it too because she’s read it about 5 times already today.  She even read it to Papi as soon as he walked in the door and is now dancing around the house singing a spunky hanky-panky cranky stinky-dinky lanky honky-tonky winky wonky donkey!

Stocking up on supplies

July 28, 2010

We’ve started stocking up on supplies to take to Argentina.  Nappies, wipes, baby food.  Mum also bought me the nice white tracksuit because she thought it would be comfortable on long plane and car trips.  I’m just looking at the colour of this food and thinking… how long will my new tracksuit be white?

Small print

July 27, 2010

Today I had my fingerprint taken in silver!  We went to visit our friend Sue who helped me get a perfect print and then is going to turn it into jewellery.

It’s going to look a bit like this:

but with my fingerprint and name on it!

(If you want to get one too, ask Mum for Sue’s details, or click here)

Dinner time conversation

July 26, 2010

The family dinner time conversation was a bit boring tonight so I decided to go to sleep early.  I just forgot about washing my face and putting on my pyjamas first.

Argentina accommodation

July 25, 2010

Check this out… this is going to be my bed when we’re in Argentina.  I love it!  It’s complete with air mattress, sleeping bag and zip up windows with mosquito nets.  Mum helped me set it up in the living room (which only takes a minute) so I could inspect it.  Trumpet and I played in it this afternoon and we concluded that it’s going to be very comfortable.

And look how small it folds down to.  It will fit in Mum’s suitcase and will only use about a kilo of her weight allowance (as modelled by Papi, who looks a bit grumpy because he was modelling in the middle of an online chess tournament).

Three amigas

July 24, 2010

Today we celebrated Colombian style because Sara’s Papi has been studying very hard for a long time.  Whilst our parents tucked into some good food, us girls got down to the serious business of hammering pegs.

July 23, 2010

Mum helped me label all of my precious things with my new ‘Ana Lucia’ labels from You Name It! (we won a voucher in our prize pack).  Mum put one on me because she said that along with Papi I’m her most treasured thing.

Spanish Siesta

July 22, 2010

It’s Spanish class day on Thursdays and Mum and my other class mates were practising the imperfect subjunctive and the conditional tenses.  Papi has already taught me all of that so I went and hung out in the cot and read my book.
