My new year resolutions

December 31, 2010

This afternoon Mum, Papi and I sat down together to ponder our goals for 2011.

I’m going to:

  • Be able to walk from my room to Mum and Papi’s room and climb into bed with them
  • Take Mum and Papi away on holidays more often
  • Increase my vocabulary to be able to ask Mum and Papi for a dog, or maybe a pony (in both English and Spanish of course)
  • To begin my share investment portfolio

What are yours?

My happy birthday

December 30, 2010

I’m the big 01 today!

  • I am very chatty and can say “Muma”, “Papa’ and “Bye-bye” (complete with a wave).  My parents don’t understand everything I say but when I throw food from my highchair or hurl my water bottle on the floor I’m very clearly understood.
  • I’m a super duper crawler, can climb onto tables, up and down stairs and walk around holding onto the furniture.  I haven’t mastered walking on my own yet but it’s on my to do list for 2011.
  • I LOVE raviolli, blueberries and bananas and have a very good appetite.  Mum’s fed me over 30 different kinds of veges (really!) and now that I have 6 teeth I’m experimenting with all sorts of other foods too.
  • Whenever music is playing I rock and dance and clap my hands.  Sometimes I extend a leg and point my toe when I’m standing up at the coffee table which makes Mum very proud.
  • I hum myself to sleep cuddling my bunny ‘Connie’ and my poodle ‘Lucy’.  Mum says I sleep the whole night through but Papi says that waking at 5:30am every morning isn’t the whole night through.
  • I’m so happy I just can’t stop smiling!

I don't know what Mum wished for on my behalf when she was cutting the cake. Maybe it was for my well being. I hope it was for a pony!

Thank you sooooooooooo much to Abuela who made my koala cake for my beach party.  I love you Abuela!

December 29, 2010

Last night we stayed with Rob (Mum’s uncle) and Paula in Pauanui.  They all sat up late drinking wine and chatting whilst I got a nice early night ready for today’s adventures.

Before breakfast we went on a big, long walk down the beach, through the bush and over the rocks.

We did a spot of crab hunting.

And found one!

Back at home I helped with the pre flight check of the Bird Dog. What a funny name for a plane!

Papi was all smiles in the co-pilot seat.

Can you see Mum, Paula and I waving to Rob and Papi as they were coming into land?

I was sad to leave for Auckland this afternoon but Paula provided me with fantastic in-car entertainment.

Exploration of Abuela’s back yard

Sunprotection factor 2.

Those are very big shoes indeed!

So much space, so little time.

My new ball looks even more magical in the sunshine.

Around the Mount

December 27, 2010

I went backwards around Mt Maunganui today and the scenery was superb.  My seaside walk was followed by playing with bunnies, yummy food, a cuppa with friends and a nice long nap on the way back over the Kaimais.

Merry Christmas

December 26, 2010

My last two days have been filled with fabulous food, family, exploring Abuela’s garden and lots and lots of games of Balderdash

We’ve been having so much fun we forgot to take many photos, but here are a few of the special moments I’ve had over the last couple of days.

Mum and I listening to "The Night Before Christmas" book which Abuela recorded herself reading.

Aunty VJ and I enjoying playing with a toy she used to play with when she was my age. Everyone else is still feasting in the background.

Aunty VJ, Mum, Abuela and I all in deep discussion about a book (also in the middle of the big feast!)

Boxing day has been about left overs and dancing to my new "Mango Tango" CD whilst the great Balderdash challenge was in play.

Christmas (w)rap for the silly season

December 24, 2010

Off to NZ, in a Qantas Sled.

Holidays are here, Christmas so near

Only one sleep to go!  Ho! Ho! Ho!

OK, I know that’s really bad – complete with the awful pun in the title.  We’ve been having fun making up silly songs all morning whilst we finished packing so I thought I’d share one.  I hope I’ve remembered to pack everything.  Now we’re just waiting for the taxi to take us to the airport.  Soooooo exciting!

December 23, 2010

Mum and Papi tell me every day how much they love me.  My friend Leanne must know this because she designed and screen printed this T-shirt especially for me.  It’s my new favourite shirt.  I feel very loved in it!

Supervising secret santa

December 22, 2010

In my role as Santa’s Little Helper I supervised a Stealing Secret Santa session at Mum’s work today.

It starts with all the presents in the middle.  Everyone takes a turn to either open a present from the middle or steal someone else’s that is already opened.  If your present is stolen then you open another present.  The opening and stealing continues until everyone has a present.

Mum got to take home Brazilian coffee and some gorgeous sweet treats.  I hope she shares!

Another Christmas task well executed.  Time to go home and take a well earned nap.

Reindeer carrots

December 21, 2010

4 sleeps to go and Mum and I are still working through our pre Christmas to do list:

“Buy carrots for Rudolph and his team.”
