Big News

February 18, 2011

We’re moving to Portland in Oregon!  Wow!

I pulled out the atlas to work out where my new home is going to be.

Cooking corn cakes

February 17, 2011

I was in charge of mixing the batter until it was smooth.

Urgh! Mum warned me the raw batter wouldn't taste good.

Mmmm, much nicer fresh out of the pan.

Gosh! Where did they go?

I ate so many I lost count.

Getting ready to go for our morning run

February 16, 2011

Come on Mum, I’m ready!

February 15, 2011

It was hot and sunny as Mum and I set off to do our supermarket shopping so we were surprised to see a dark and heavy sky when we came out of the store half an hour later.  Caught with no umbrella or rain cover Mum pulled the pram sun shade over as far as she could stretch it and ran (although not fast enough!) because half way home the sky burst open.  Mum kept peering around the edge of the pram to check on me but there was no need for concern because I was enjoying the sound of the clacking of the rain on the roof of the pram and the sensation of kicking at the big, fat drops of water.

When we finally made it through the door I looked like this:

But only moments later….

snug and dry

Hearts and happiness

February 14, 2011

In the spirit of the day I wore my ‘Loved’ shirt and blue shorts with multi-coloured hearts all over them.  I also had a big grin and twinkling eyes because Mum, Papi and I had breakfast together and then played  around for a little while before we all went our separate ways for the day.  How nice we could all set off with a spring in our steps feeling happy, loved and oozing Valentine-ness.

My new howdah

February 13, 2011

Today we tried out my new howdah on our family trek at the Glass House Mountains an hour north of Brisbane.

It was a very comfortable ride around Mt Beerwah in the morning.

Papi tickled my toes as we trecked on the lookout loop in the afternoon. I returned the favour by singing to him the whole way.

I had a much bigger audience to sing to at the Lookout Cafe in Beerburrum.

Car racer

February 12, 2011

Only minutes into the race I became distracted by the giant tv on the sidelines.

And then got further delayed stopping to meet my supporters.

Since my lap time was already slow I thought I may as well stop for a bit of a boogie.

3/4 of the way through I clapped and cheered myself on. Look no hands!

Coming through the gates to the finishing shute I was feeling pretty good. But then...

with no damage to me or the car I still managed to finish the race.

The tallest little girl

February 11, 2011

Mum! I'm up here!

The silver fork

February 10, 2011

The silver cutlery set Mum was given when she was a little girl.

I felt very grown up tonight eating my chicken and veges with a little silver fork.  It’s from a set that Mum’s grandparents gave her when she was little.  Iguess it must be antique.  They are very pretty with a flower pattern creeping down the handle and a little ‘s’ engraved at the bottom.

I hope I can use them more because it my dinner tasted better and it also makes a very satisfying ‘clunk clunk clunk’ sound when I bang it on my Bunnykins plate.

Go horsey, go!

Come on!

Oh I give up! He gets there quicker like this.
