Left becomes right and right becomes wrong

September 30, 2011

When I put my shoes on today Mum said that they should be opposite and the right was the left, but I thought the opposite of right was wrong… or maybe that’s right?!?

I thought they felt a little uncomfortable.

Where babies come from

September 29, 2011

After dinner I can see my baby.  I was showing it to Mum because it looks just like hers!

The versatility of boots

September 28, 2011

Boots go with everything.

Even PJs.

Isn’t something that goes with everything clever shopping, Mum?

The temperature switch

September 27, 2011

Fall officially started last Friday and overnight someone decided to flick the switch from hot to cold weather.

This is what I was wearing on Saturday when Papi was lifting me up to touch the sun.

But this morning, just three days later, I was layered up in winter woolies for the walk to the office. It was cold and dark!

Bye bye pee pee

A fond farewell.

Nuestros cuentos

September 25, 2011

Mum and Papi thought they were taking me to watch Nuestros Cuentos (Our Stories) little did they know I was going to be on stage for the entire show!

Lucy and I warmed up the crowd before Viva la Cultura! took to the stage.

Fortunately I never had to get off the stage! The performers gave me a maraca so I could perform with them. I even put Lucy down on my seat between Mum and Papi so I could concentrate on keeping the beat.

And I helped tell the story of the mariposa by waving my paper mariposa at the appropriate times in the story.

The fiesta at the end was the best bit. We invited even more people up on stage and followed Rebecca's lead, twirling around with our hands waving in the air.

We were at Nuestros Cuentos (Our Stories) as part of La Luna Nueva (The New Moon) Festival of Hispanic Arts and Culture at the Miracle Theatre.

Apricot slice and rugby

September 24, 2011

Where else can I enjoy the combination of Edmund’s Cookery Book apricot slice and rugby but at a Kiwi picnic?

The apricot slice was one of the yummiest things I've ever tasted.

I managed to sneak a second piece when I pretended to go over for a chat with some people close to the plate.

After lunch it was time for a bit of rugby.

I intercepted a tricky low pass.

and scored the winning try.

I can explain…

September 23, 2011

Well, half of it I can.  The noise in the background that is distracting me (and is “hot”) is the pressure cooking making tonight’s stew.  The other part of the movie… I’m not sure that needs any explanation.  Does it?

Quad plaits

September 22, 2011

The girls at my office plaited my hair.

There's four of them!

but this is what happened when I took them out!

Milk concerto in B flat minor no 2

September 21, 2011

Composed in 2011, this concerto follows the traditional form of three movements:  The sonata-allegro is loud and finishes with a giggle.  The second movement is a soft uplifting of the bottle which leads seamlessly into the minuet played solely with the left hand in a moderately fast tempo.
