Teaching Rafa to drive

August 31, 2012

Well, the day has arrived.  It’s time for Rafa to learn how to manoeuvre the big red Freddies car around the supermarket.

Ok Rafa. Is your seat belt on?  Are you ready?

Gosh, that’s a bit heavy on the horn Raff!

Watch out Raff! The brake! The brake! Step on the brake!

Phew! Crash adverted. See Rafa, isn’t this fun?

What?!? No berries!

August 30, 2012

For the last few months when we’ve been at Kim and Justin’s for potluck I’ve gone berry picking around the back of the house.  First we had strawberries and then raspberries, and then came the blueberries but tonight… nothing!

So instead I went to visit the chickens, but they didn’t even invite me inside!

So I went around to the back of the hen house where the eggs normally are but Justin had already collected them.

Thank goodness I found some cherry tomatoes in the garden. I was supposed to be sharing them but whenever they were moved to another part of the table I just moved around with them.

To see what Kim cooked, go here.

Explaining how the giraffe wasn’t pinkalicious, amongst other things

August 29, 2012

At dinner time I like to tell Mum and Rafa a story.  This is tonight’s story (and yes, I did say toMAYto not toMAHto – I also called Mum, Mom this morning).

A note on the filming.  Rafa was learning how to operate the camera today, which is why it’s a bit shaky.  He’s only a baby.  He’ll get better.

Where is my food?

August 28, 2012

The bug seems to have found its way out of my system and after getting some rest last night (none of this sleeping through stuff that some of my friends manage but some good descent blocks of sleep) I’m starting to feel a bit like my old self again.  I’m smiling and ready to play.  I’m also feeling like eating again… if only I could find my boobies.

Usually my favourite food is kept in here but today I can’t seem to find it.  Mum muttered something about the laundry.

Miserable morning but fingers crossed for a restful night

August 27, 2012

This morning I was miserable. I was exhausted from yet another sleepless night, I’m still achy and just to kick me whilst I’m down my top front teeth are coming through (one just through and the other waiting at the surface).

Fortunately by the afternoon I was perking up a little bit. Maybe we’ll get some sleep tonight? Mum and Papi have been whinging about being tired but what about me?!? I haven’t had my beauty sleep in three nights either and I’m the one that has to look good for all these blog pictures.

Garage sale haul

August 26, 2012

These are the cushions that Papi was complaining about. We made a swap with a neighbour at the garage sale for some chairs.  Mum maintains that “a swap” isn’t “a purchase” so no agreements were broken.

But better yet we came home with this wagon too. It’s on loan.  So it’s not a purchase either.

We put Raffy on the floor because he wasn’t well and we were worried he’d fall out if he was up on the seat. We thought getting out for some fresh air would be nice for him. Turns out we were wrong. He puked some more so we turned around and came home.

Garage sale day

August 25, 2012

Selling all of our old stuff at the neighbourhood garage sale was a lot more fun than anticipated.

Mostly due to the fact that the boys next door were selling table fulls of really cool toys.

I had a big chat to a dinosaur head, who got me into lots of trouble when he decided to start biting customer’s bottoms!

Playing with the car was a much safer activity even though I almost lost control jumping off the big ramp.

almost taken out driving past the wild animals.

and sliding completely out of control on the course’s tight corners on the glass table.

Getting ready for the big sale

August 24, 2012

There is a community garage sale tomorrow.

So Mum and I spent the morning making signs.

And putting them up. (I learnt a few new words in the process because it was really windy and some of them weren’t staying up very well).

We priced the things we don’t use any more and packed them into boxes.

Then the boys from our neighbour’s house came over to help us take everything over there to set up.  We’re all ready for the morning!

Extreme peek-a-boo

August 23, 2012

I fell asleep playing peek-a-boo with the masks on the wall.

Mum was jealous

August 22, 2012

Mum is just a wee bit jealous of Rafa and I having a blog so she decided to write one too.  It’s called The Leaping Zucchini.  If healthy eating is your thing (or you want it to be your thing) then check it out.

I’m not sure what Mum’s fascination with zucchini’s is all about. They look like mobile phones to me.
