Late on the first day of school

We were ready for school on time. We loaded our school bags, lunches and ourselves into the car. Which didn't start.

So back inside whilst Mum put her trouble shooting skills to use.

So back inside whilst Mum put her trouble shooting skills to use (We got to watch weekday morning kid tv!  No complaints here).

An hour later we had a new battery and were on our way.

An hour later we had a new battery and were once again, on our way.

So we arrived to our new school an hour late. Not only that, Mum noticed a few other issues and so spent the rest of the day killing time at the shops near an auto mechanic.

Better late than never, we got to our new school but Mum noticed a few other car issues on route so she then headed straight to an auto mechanic.

The car was fixed just in time to pick us up from school. We had a great day! I drew a picture of what I'm going to be when I grow up. A Princess Doctor Firefighter.

Aha so poor Mr Car had more than just the little problem we all thought. .. was it the alternator Mum? And I love your shirt dress Ana, do they make them in my size too?

Apart from getting the car fixed, what else was on Mum’s schedule for the day?

Mum was supposed to be doing her PhD. Instead she arranged our insurance (the office happened to be next door to the auto mechanic); went shopping, had lunch, had a foot massage and read a trashy magazine. All in the one shopping complex.
