The bottomless pit solution

Mum can't fill me up at the moment.

Mum says I’m a bit of a bottomless pit at the moment.

Even after a good dinner I go looking for more and Mum can't keep up with the fruit and yoghurt demand.

Even after a good dinner I go looking for more food and fruit and yoghurt for dessert just isn’t cutting it.

But she's found a solution!

But tonight, Mum has found a solution!

Arroz con leche! (Rice, milk, cinnamon, vanilla and a drizzle of honey).

Arroz con leche! (Rice, milk, cinnamon, vanilla and a drizzle of honey).  Although I think the batch was supposed to last more than one night.  Oh well.

Arroz con leche sounds so much more romantic than rice pud! It’s a long time favourite of mine, too, Rafa. Mum will need to make triple quantity when I visit.

    • Rafa Says:

Mum promised to add raisins next time too. She also thought some chopped bananas on top would be nice but I’d eaten all of those already.

      • Rafa Says:

Note: I think real arroz con leche has condensed milk in it!

      • Abuela Says:

Anything with condensed milk is exceptional. Forget the rice, the raisins, the milk. Just have the condensed milk. You can get it in a tube these days which you can squirt straight into your mouth. No need for a spoon. No mess!

“Have you got hollow legs?” is what my Mum used to say.

I’m with you Rafa… (psst Trader Joe’s has a particularly good rice pudding, get Mum to take you there)

    • Rafa Says:

We don’t have a Trader Joe’s close by here… but we are getting a new HEB in just down the road and Mum reckon’s that’s going to have some pretty good stuff in it.
