Mum had a picnic planned for today. She’d chosen a new park with a kid’s playground and had planned the menu. But she forgot to organise the weather. We woke to dark, thick clouds. The temperature has dropped to 79F (26C) which feels quite chilly so we decided to go to an indoor venue instead. I was THRILLED when I saw the Chuck E Cheese’s mouse on Mum’s computer screen but there was something funny about the mouse that greeted us at the door. I’m sure it was just a person dressed up as a mouse. Mum said I might be right about that. Perhaps Mr Cheese was busy today.

Ana, what did your friends think of your new rainbow shoes?
Renewing my Aussie passport from the US is quite a process. Mum has almost finished all the forms and getting the documentation together, so tonight we went out to get new photos. We printed out all the requirements from the website because we’ve heard they can be really strict about how it looks. I wasn’t allowed to smile, or put on my Elsa face for the camera which I think is kind of strange because that’s how I normally look. Not like this!
And to put in perspective how long I’ve been blogging, my very first post ever was about getting my first passport!
There has been a ton of excitement in the air as we get ready for the start of the new school year. I’m now officially in Jr-K (although I have been hanging out with them all summer) and today my teacher gave me a bag of gold fish snacks to mark “O-FISH-ally” joining the Jr-K class. Raffy is moving into “Get-Set” this week and his teacher gave him a rice crispy treat because his class is “sticking together”. Ha ha! We did take a photo for you but we’re having difficulties with uploading photos onto the blog so until we’re technically sorted, our stories will have to do.
Tonight we’re getting ready for our end of summer and start of the school year celebration day tomorrow. Mum is busy cooking up gluten-free pizza tonight so Raffy can eat at the lunch-time pizza party (his favourite food in the whole world) without getting scratchy. Meanwhile, I’m sorting out our costumes. I’m planning on being Elsa so I can freeze everybody and Rafa wants to be Spiderman. If we can upload photos tomorrow we’ll show you!
