The passport process

Renewing my Aussie passport from the US is quite a process.  Mum has almost finished all the forms and getting the documentation together, so tonight we went out to get new photos.  We printed out all the requirements from the website because we’ve heard they can be really strict about how it looks.  I wasn’t allowed to smile, or put on my Elsa face for the camera which I think is kind of strange because that’s how I normally look.  Not like this!

And to put in perspective how long I’ve been blogging, my very first post ever was about getting my first passport!

Abuela is delaying getting her passport renewed on the basis that her current one has her smiling! In the olden days, passports and travel were exciting and happy affairs.

Yes it’s hard not to smile when you’re that beautiful 🙂 new passport…. Does that mean travel in the future??

I’ll take posing lessons from you, Ana. My current passport has fewer than six months left on it, so technically it has expired. I am holding my breath that the government will return to issuing 10 year rather than five year passports – and hope very much that none of you need me in an emergency between now and when the period of validity goes back up again.
