Sunday chores and storms

And the house cleaning, even though I pointed out to Mum that it wasn’t really necessary since we weren’t having any guests over (For the record, Mum denies that impending guest arrivals are the only time she does house cleaning) but I’m not convinced.

Then just as we were heading out to go to the Home Depot and supermarket it started pouring down. There was a big storm weather warning and the birds took cover by our front door.

We all ended up having a big afternoon nap listening to the rain and thunder, followed by early dinner and a family movie.

When I was growing up, the wet Sunday evening special dinner was pancakes with a sprinkling of lemon juice and sugar (though honey would be even better). And to be able to do this with the laundry and housework all done – perfect relaxation.

As much as I like the idea of Home Depot I really like afternoon naps and movies.

And, may I ask, what did Rafa do? If he was like me he would run to the shelter of the garage and hide while the housework is on. He will be ready when it comes time to go out or watch the home movie, I bet. Anyway, that is what I would do.

You’ve got it. No where to be seen until it’s movie time.

Iggy tells such big whoppers. Other men close their wives ears when I tell them the chores that Iggy does – uncomplainingly – every day. Send Rafa over here for training – it will win him a happy wife one day.
