We’re the solar system

Mum came up to school to do a presentation on Australia and my friend got to play being the sun shining on Houston (whilst it was dark in Australia) and then as the earth spun she was shining on Australia (whilst it was dark in Houston).  Since then, playing the solar system has been the new vogue for our pre-bed game.

Papi is the Earth's axis, Rafa is the moon and I am the sun.

But now I get to be the sun, Papi is the Earth’s rotation and Rafa is the moon.

There was some disagreement about who was supposed to orbit around whom. I wanted to orbit really fast. And so did Rafa.

Then Mum wanted to know what she should be.   I suggested she could be grass.  But for some reason she wanted to be something else.  After much discussion last night we ended up going to bed without Mum’s role resolved.

Tonight we settled on Mum being a star. This is how you be a star.

But tonight we got it settled.  Mum is our star. We just had to teach her how to do it because we know more about being stars than she does.

Oh yes! I agree – your Mum sure is a star! Looks like Papi could easily make the earth move – and I am goddess of the moon. As for you, Ana and Rafa, if in doubt you are rock stars!

I agree mum is a star. Although she could be Venus.. Cause you know women come from Venus right? Papi is Atlas!

You two are the center of the universe!
