20 of 20, the summer bucket list is done!

Earning money!!!

This week we’ve had the chance to help mum out at the warehouse and earn some money. Mum wrote chores on the board, with how much she was willing to pay for them, so we could select which ones we wanted to do.

Rafa worked hard on Monday – taking the most valuable chores on the list and earning $4.

But then the rest of the week he decided that even though he was very interested in earning money, he wasn’t so interested in the chores.

That left more chores for me! I’ve pocketed $14 this week! Making mum coffee, printing labels and stamping boxes were my favorite tasks.

Supplies for my company

November 28, 2016

Mum has agreed to let me create prototype Cat Capes for Antonio and Rosie so we can create a manufacturing process and costings as the next steps to opening my company. Today was so much fun! I can see why Mum and Papi enjoy running their businesses so much.

My new business

August 30, 2016

I’ve started a new business. I’ve come up with a name ‘Animal Friends’; and a concept of designing pet collars. I’ve been on at Mum and Papi for days to let the government know so I’m legally registered and ready for business.

This week I’ve spent hours designing and producing my collars ready for sale. There is an American Flag design, dog bones, bubbles and gems and cartoon dogs. I even got up really early this morning to work on them before school.

So you can imagine how distraught I was when Mum pointed out a few design flaws over breakfast. She was particularly harsh about the impracticalities of using paper and tape but I know she is right.

Ana at the pet store

So Mum and I headed off to the pet store this afternoon for some research. Not that Mum was much use at telling me what all the different materials were – but now I know what I’m looking for as soon as I convince someone to take me to a material shop. Mum and Papi are right. Having your own business is full of challenges!

Creating masterpieces and raspberry fingers whilst Mum and Papi were unloading honey… that was our Saturday night.

Day 3 of no school

April 20, 2016

Rafa was able to get back to the office today but my school remains closed. The ‘honey’ and ‘money’ businesses must go on so I tagged along with the honey side of things to Mum’s meeting today. She let me loose with the camera in the cafe whilst she was working with her web site guy. I had so much fun!

After school job

April 14, 2016

At my after school job today I made gift packs and helped Mum set up for a show. This time I was paid… in biscotti!
