Most of the animals are asleep at this time of night - but we did catch a few that were up late.

We got a picnic lunch from Whole Food Markets. Mum taking a photo is a perfect opportunity for me to get a hand in her salad.

Portland tour guide

August 16, 2013

Today I took Grantie Rachel and Alan on a Portland tour.

PT Rose Rafa

We looked at and sniffed almost 700 types of roses at the Rose Garden.

Pittock Mansion is under going renovations at the moment but the gardens and the view are still worth the visit.

Dino day

How cool is this? A dinosaur show at Washington Square Mall!

Then Rafa got a little peckish. Much to Papi's dismay. He thought the show would let him have his coffee and sandwich in peace.

Ten tiny dances

July 15, 2013

We went to watch ten tiny dances.  They are tiny because they are all performed on a tiny 4′ x 4′ (about 1.2 m square) stage.

We were captivated.

We were captivated.

Even when we had 6 punnets of berries in front of us.

Even when we had 6 punnets of berries in front of us.

Unfortunately we only got around to 3 of the stages (seeing six dances) – and the camera battery stopped cooperating half way through but here’s a taste of what you can do on a teeny, tiny stage.

l a ka

The Native American dancers had a live drummer which they say is the heartbeat of the dance.

la la

This one was a dance and sound collaboration where four separate audio tracks were played from four different sources and the dance was very melodramatic!

Dance 3

This dance was on top of boxes!  She was a giant on a city landscape, a toddler on building blocks and a superhero all within 10 minutes.

We arrived at Magnolia Park this morning before the weekend crowds.

We wolfed down breakfast as quick as we could so we could get back to what we came for... playtime!

Papi invented a new style of yoga. Sunday Morning Coffee Cup Yoga. He reckons it is going to catch on.

Then the water fountain started up and Ana and her new mates were trying to run through it without getting wet.

I reckon I had the right idea.

Didn’t they realise they only needed to hide behind these rocks?

Enjoying the sunshine before she disappears again

May 25, 2013
We made the most of the smidgen of sunshine and headed to the Beaverton Farmers Market for brunch.
