Five!

December 30, 2014
Because I'm turning 5 today I got to choose today's activities. First stop, Rainforest Cafe.

Because I’m turning 5 today I got to choose today’s activities. I had been planning this for quite some time.  First stop, Rainforest Cafe.

I kept my hood on because it rains in the rainforest.

I told the waiter it was my birthday and so after lunch they gave me a cupcake and sang Happy Birthday to me.

I told the waiter it was my birthday and he rounded up some of the guys to sing Happy Birthday to me.

And gave me a birthday cupcake. Which Mum made me share with Rafa. So he better share his on his birthday.

And gave me a birthday cupcake. Which Mum made me share a bit with Rafa. But that’s okay.

My next request was for a carousel ride.

I told the ticket lady it was my birthday and she gave me a big, red balloon.

I had to remind Mum that I still needed a home cake. She came through with a big cupcake with a snowman and snowflake ring. I still had to share with Raffy.

I reminded Mum that I still needed a home cake. She came through with a big, blue cupcake topped with a snowman and a snowflake ring. I still had give a bit of that one to Raffy too.  I hope he remembers that on his birthday.

It was a special day.

The day went perfectly to plan and I got everything I wanted.

My mini glider

January 1, 2012

What better thing to do on the first day of the year than cycle my mini glider around the house.  I’ve devised the perfect race track.  The start line is in my playroom and the course goes around the living room, through the dining room and kitchen, turning sharp right at the kitchen island, past the downstairs toilet and laundry, through Mum’s office, past the stairs in the entrance way and finishes back in my playroom.  I’m pretty slow and cautious on the track at the moment though.  A few days before my birthday I found it hidden in the hall cupboard and tried to ride it in there.  I crashed inside the cupboard and it really hurt.  I don’t want to do that again!

Papi helped me to get my balance as I went through the dining room.

Celebrating being two

December 31, 2011

If this is what being two is all about… then I LOVE being two!

First thing in the morning Mum and Papi hung balloons on the trees outside and all over my play room just for me! I got to choose which colours went together in the bunches.

But I was really surprised when I got up from my nap to see that Dora and her friends turned up to wish me happy birthday.

My friends came around and we had lots of food. I strategically sat myself in front of the fruit platter and picked up chunks of fruit with a Dora toothpick.

I couldn't wait to serve the cake up to my friends.

and then we chilled together for a little while in front of tv whilst Mum and Papi and their friends had coffee.

Time for presents. A Dora doll! How did they know?

I’d like to turn two everyday

December 30, 2011

My first day of being two started at 5:30am with an episode of my favourite show (you know what THAT is) followed by a family breakfast at my new table.  After breakfast Mum gave me a box covered with “Dora the Explorer”.  I thought the box was very cool.  But then Mum helped me open it and what was inside was even cooler…

"Dora the Explorer" shoes which light up when I walk.

With lights flashing at every step I bounced off to my last day at my current office (I’m going to a new place closer to our new home next year).  Today was party day.  Not just because it is my birthday but also to celebrate the end of 2011.  We all turned up in our PJs for a pajama party.  I wore my “Hello Kitty” PJs with my new “Dora” shoes, of course.

When Mum and Papi came to pick me up I was boogying to Michael Jackson on the dance floor.

It was a great party.  I wore a crown since I was the birthday girl.  My colleagues gave me a beautiful book of photos and inside jokes from the office and another book of my art work.  They also gave me big girl “Dora” underpants!  They know me so well.

My day finished with my favourite dinner which I enjoyed from ear to ear!

What a day!  Yes, I think I’d like to turn two everyday.

A birthday surprise a day early

December 29, 2011

My birthday isn’t until tomorrow but Aunty VJ surprised me tonight with a birthday gift.

I helped with the construction.

and was thrilled with the end result.

We gave it a test run with a birthday drink. Cheers!

Table and chair set is from the Mammut range from IKEA.

Mum’s birthday

May 31, 2011

There was no unpacking or tidying up today because it’s Mum’s birthday!  We started the day off with me taking Mum to Kornblatt’s New York Deli to share a big plate of vege hash and poached eggs.  Then we walked it off with a big long walk admiring the grand turn of the century homes that stand proud on the hills to the West of our neighbourhood.  When we got home there was a big bunch of flowers waiting on the porch from Papi (he’s away for work).  I think that made her day.  Now we’re wrapping up the day with watermelon gelato at Mio Gelato.  I think that’s coming in a close second.

We couldn't get through all the vege hash, it will be nice reheated for dinner!
