The Cross Creek Spooktacular is another pre-Halloween warm up

The Cross Creek Spooktacular on “the hill” gave us another chance to wear our Halloween costumes and prepare for the big night this Friday.

The balloon lady made me an Elsa magic septre for my costume.

And Spidey gave his webs a much needed break going for a sword

And Spidey used his golden sword to catch the bad guys for a change, giving his webs a much needed break!

Straight after swimming tonight we headed to National Night Out where communities around the US get together with their neighbours.

Now that we’re in summer break and Rafa and I aren’t so busy Mum and Papi are going to their gym some evenings.

They've built a series of boardwalks around the polishing pond at Cross Creek.

They’ve built a series of boardwalks around the polishing pond at Cross Creek.  The pond is as big as 48 football fields and also functions as an engineered water quality basin.

We went down there tonight to hunt for alligators and birds.

We saw lots and lots of dragonflies, mosquitos, ducks and other birds.  But no alligators.

Our community cafe reopened today.  It's now the Italian Maid.

Our community cafe (unofficially) reopened this week. It’s now The Italian Maid and has new, bright red booth seats.

I thought the spaghetti was delicious.

Construction monitoring

We enjoy regular monitoring of the construction areas in our neighbourhood.

We enjoy monitoring the construction areas in our neighbourhood.

We especially like the guys that walk on the roofs and how they pass bricks at each other (by throwing!).  There are regularly tractors, trucks and diggers and today we saw a truck carrying a load of piled up grass squares!

There are regularly tractors and diggers and other fun vehicles hanging around and today we saw a big truck carrying a load of piled up, neatly cut squares of dirt and grass!
