Actually, although we've been friends through our blogs for sometime, this was the first time we'd met. We hit it off immediately.

Although we’ve been friends through our blogs for sometime, this was the first time we’d met in person. Guy and I hit it off immediately (and so did all the others).

First stop was the markets, of course.

Through an alley with gum all over the walls. Apparently this is a tourist attraction!

At Fisherman's Wharf we rode the carousel.

Spied on the giant seagulls.

But once Amelie and Raffy teamed up to getting into mischief we headed back to our hotel.

Seattle waterfront

September 6, 2011

Walking along the Seattle waterfront is an adventure in itself but if you aren't in the mood for adventure you can pull up a deck chair and enjoy the ocean views. Big container boats and cruise ships, mega million dollar yachts and ferries, sea planes and seagulls.

The Olympic Sculpture Park on the waterfront is a perfect spot for picnic lunch. I liked the metal tree. It didn't provide much shade though.

There are lots of good shops which kept us busy all afternoon. The shop keepers are really friendly in Seattle.

We finished out Seattle trip by having dinner down by the water with the seagulls.

They serenaded us through dinner. We shared some of our food with them. I'm guessing from the size of them they share a lot of dinners!
