Hello Houston!

We had a really good flight yesterday but by the time we landed, collected our bags and the car (we had to wait around a while for our seats!), we then got something to eat and settled into our temporary apartment.  By then we were too tired to work out the internet and tell you all about it!

After a good night’s sleep we were bright eyed and bushy tailed for house hunting today.

The agent selected a great spot for lunch (and check out the absence of beanies and jackets!)

We really liked the Trend Maker homes… but we have lots more houses to look at tomorrow.

Now we’re all in a one room hotel suite trying to go to sleep.  Although we’re quite unsuccessful on the sleeping part.

 

A house of boxes

This is so cool! Our house is a giant maze of boxes!

Ready for the movers

We’ve got everything sorted and labeled for the packing people tomorrow morning.

And we’ve eaten the last of the perishables.

Although apparently Ana and I have to go to the office tomorrow so we’re going to miss all the interesting bit!

A break from the relocation chores

Friends invited us around for dinner tonight, which is good because eating the last scraps to clean out the fridge and pantry is getting boring.  And it was a great break in the cleaning and packing too.

Kennedy and I ripped around the back yard in her Barbie car.

Until we got stopped by the cops.

Rafa didn’t want to get off the trampoline to come in for dinner.

And then didn’t want to leave when it was time to go. Although none of us wanted to go… that was way more fun than cleaning and packing and stuff.

Cleaning and packing

Time to give this house a serious clean.

Up as high as the window sills at any rate.

And pack our suitcases.

Mission: coffee

We’re out of coffee.  We ran out yesterday.  Our coffee machine is being packed away soon anyway so Mum figured that for the last few days we could just drink herbal tea instead.

This morning that didn’t seem like such a good idea after all.

And we ended up at Elmers for our first breakfast of the year. (Okay, so Ana and I had milk but Mum and Papi are a lot more spritely with caffeine in their systems so it’s in our interests too).

Moved!

We’re not completely unpacked and the house should be declared a disaster area, but we have officially moved into our new home.

The truck is here!

It was my job to check off the box numbers as they came into the house.

and direct the unloaders which rooms the boxes should go in. We got most of them right.

Then for the unpacking. We haven't finished that part yet.

We haven’t got ourselves connected yet either so this post is brought to you from a local cafe with free wi-fi.  We might be having a lot of coffee out this week!
