It’s not my party!

June 30, 2012

Today I turned 2.5 and my friend Preston turned 3.

Apparently you don’t get any presents for turning 2.5

But Preston liked the game I got him for turning 3

Preston’s grandparents came all the way from China for the party.  They made a fantastic traditional lunch with special spices they brought with them from home. The Thomas the Tank Engine banana cake to follow was also delicious.  I don’t think that was made in China.

Rafa did what he does best at parties and went around collecting cuddles.

He particularly liked Preston’s grandma and spent lots of time with her.

Garden microphones

June 29, 2012

On my morning walk to the office I like to stop and belt out a song into the microphones in a garden along the way.

Mum says one day I might get a mouthful of water to wash down Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Supporting Mum

June 28, 2012

Mum is trying to get fit again after having me, so I figure the least I can do is help her through her morning sessions at Baby Boot Camp Beaverton.

Today I helped her with an extra 20 llbs, I mean, moral support in the wall sit.

Apparently the world record for a wall sit is 11 hours, 51 minutes and 14 seconds.  We still had 11 hours and 40-something minutes to go.

If Kate Middleton can do it, so can we

Recycle outfits that is.  Do you recognise these stripes?

Ana was wearing this not so long ago!  See it here.  Although it didn’t make her cheeks look so big.

Renegotiating bedtime

June 25, 2012

Rafa is feeling much better tonight and he’s catching up on all the sleep he missed over the weekend so I thought that since Mum had much more time on her hands this evening it was a good opportunity to attempt renegotiating my bedtime routine.

First I renegotiated what I was allowed to take to bed. I thought I was in luck when Mum said I could have as much as I could take up the stairs in one go. In practice that proved to be less than I thought.

Once in my bedroom I decided that lights off time needed to be extended.  The gate at the top of the stairs was locked so I had to work my negotiating magic from the landing.

I pulled out all my best tactics but nothing was bending Mum.  I ended up being taken back to bed on several occasions and loosing the car and baby Maria in the process.

By Ana – still with a 7:30pm bedtime.

There are advantages of taking Rafa to the doctor on a Sunday morning

June 24, 2012

I got to see all the doctor’s fish.  I also got to see inside Rafa’s ears and mouth and open the drawers with the big magnet.

Since I was so good at the doctors office I got princess stickers from the doctor (which you can see on my jacket) and a horsey ride at the supermarket.

Playland wasn’t open when we were doing the shopping so it was my chance to fill the trolley with things that Mum always forgets to buy. Although thinking about it now, I don’t think any of my selections made it home?

The best thing about visiting the doctor this morning was Rafa finally started feeling a bit better and fell asleep so Mum and I stopped for a well deserved cuppa.

Pull ups are a regular part of my workout. It takes serious dedication to build guns like these.

Last supper

June 22, 2012

It’s Froggie and Reepicheep’s last supper at our house.  They are about to be picked up by their family and go home.  I hope they can visit again soon!

5 things about me at 5 months

June 21, 2012

I LOVE my big sister. She makes me laugh!

I like to sit with one arm up  (I put it up on Mum or Papi’s arm if I’m sitting on their knee).

food puts me in a good mood. Second best is chewing on my hand.

My drumstick thighs and cankles might have something to do with my comment above.

I’m a big conversationalist. It’s a skill I’ve had to hone early to get a word in edgewise in this family.
